Today I had a little time to kill so I went looking for information on the Red Dwarf movie, which has been looking for finacial backing for some time, and I came across this Petition site, so I thought that I would give it a plug here.

Red Dwarf - Petition site

I no longer want them to make the film. The time for it has been and long gone. The actors are too old and the humour is out of date, plus the later series of RD were poor to bad. I loved RD in the early days, but that was then.

I would not judge the film that could be purely on the age of the actors/actresses.

It would all depend on Chris Barrie - look how bad some of season 7 was without him, and he singlehandedly carried season 8 - Cat & Lister were no longer funny, Kochanski never was funny, and Kryten used the same jokes week in week out...

I agree, sometimes things are best left as classics and good memories. Often producers try to recreate a good TV series or film series and are RARELY successful.

Plus the recent press reports of Craig Charles crack cocaine use will not help.

Even worse than his crack taking, is his pi$$poor commentary on the hugely unfunny Takeshi's Castle! wrong wrong wrong! EEK!
